CSEA Unit #8950 President - Terry M. Gilbert
  331-8080;

I would like to reintroduce myself to everyone.  My name is Milton Terrance Gilbert, better known as "Terry".  I have been employed at Golden Hill Healthcare Center for 22 years this May. I was 1st Vice President of both CSEA Unit 8950 and CSEA Local 856 and now I am the President of CSEA Unit 8950 and CSEA Local 856.  I have been active in the Union for most of my 22 years, first as Shop Steward, then Grievance Representative, then 3rd Vice President of Unit 8950, then finally President.  I’ve walked picket lines, filed grievances, negotiated contracts, co-chair Countywide Labor Management Committee.  Over the years I’ve attended many workshops and trainings.  I believe knowledge is power; it is the key to success. Learn to listen and listen to learn.  If you don’t know me, give me a call and we’ll talk (331-8080).

In closing, I want you all to know I am a common man.  Most of the people I know are living paycheck to paycheck.  We struggle together Brothers and Sisters.  I understand our needs, and, with that being said, I promise you all that I will always be truthful with you even when you don’t like it.  I will fight with all that I am to protect your rights and I will do the best I can for all of us.  We need to stand together and be counted. "United We Stand". I will keep you informed and updated on all events regarding the membership. At this time in our lives we are fighting to make it through these trying, hard financial times. We need to send a message to the powers that be that we are a valued asset to the county. Ulster County works because we do. WE ARE ULSTER COUNTY. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
