Dear Brothers And Sisters;
Many hands make for light work. Most of us have heard the statement and know its meaning: It's easier on all of us when each of us does our share.
This, too, is the principle behind PEOPLE -- Public Employees Organized to Promote Legislative Equality: Alone we are powerless; together we are powerful.
Incredible amounts of money can be harvested by elected officials when they put their hands out to Big Business. at the same time, it's our pockets that get picked.
Just take a look at the recent "tax cuts" signed into law by the president. These "cuts" primarily benefit the wealthiest 1 percent. Those same "cuts" when compunded will cost at least $ 1 trillion dollars. They also guarantee record federal deficits that hurt the economy, threaten low interest rates, and jeopardize the future of Social Security and Medicare.
It's time to fight back.
People is about the power we gain by pooling our dollars to elect candidates who share our goals. While we can't compete one-on-one with Big Business, we can help even the playing field. And, if we all pitch in -- we can make a difference for working families.
No matter what you give through payroll deduction or direct contributions, it will be an important investment in your future.
Your contribution can make a difference. It's also desperately needed to save us from right-wing politicians who are anti-union and anti-working people.

In Solidarity,
Danny Donohue
