WEINGARTEN RIGHTS - Discipline

If called to a meeting with management, read the following or present this  to management when the meeting begins:

If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my CSEA union representative, officer or steward be present at this meeting. Until my representative arrives, I choose not to participate in this discussion.

 

 

PRE-SUSPENSION RIGHTS

If I am about to be suspended without pay, I request CSEA representation. I invoke the following rights:

  1. To be informed of the charges against me
  2. To be given an explanation of the Employer's evidence against me
  3. To be given a chance to give my side of the story, and
  4. To confer with and be represented by my CSEA representative at any point during the above steps.

 

 

INTERROGATION RIGHTS

If I am a potential subject for discipline and you intend to question me, I request CSEA representation.
I invoke the following rights:

1. To be informed of the subject matter and to confer privately with my CSEA representative before questioning begins
2. To have my
CSEA representative speak during the interrogation and ask for clarification
3. To be advised by my CSEA representative as to how to answer questions, and
4. To offer information following the questioning.
